Our contract has been extended once again to SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13th! All your current working conditions will continue to remain intact till 12/13. As you may know, Harvard University announced that as of January 15th, they will no longer extend their pandemic pay policy to cover contracted workers. All our security members and hundreds of our janitorial members working at Harvard are contracted out and could face potential layoffs. We must ensure Harvard University extends the same protections to contracted workers as to direct workers. We must stand united now more than ever because 32BJ does not leave anyone behind. Add your name to our petition below and demonstrate your support! Spread the word and share with your co-workers. | |
Bargaining Update: Given the pandemic, Securitas has offered a one year agreement with a bonus in lieu of a wage increase for 2021, so your bargaining committee is fighting for the largest across-the-board Essential Worker Pay bonus possible - in the same amount for all employees. Securitas is also open to covering the full cost of the monthly healthcare contribution for 2021. Your bargaining committee has also made progress in the following non-economic areas: 1) Bidding and filling of job vacancies: - Making the General Evaluation Criteria less subjective.
- Seniority having more weight in filling vacancies.
2) Removals per clients' request: - Your committee has had productive discussions on making the process fairer for officers if she/he is removed per clients' request.
3) Discipline: - Reducing the amount of time current discipline stays on an employee's record.
Your committee will continue to bargain over economic items and will keep negotiating to ensure your hard work as an essential worker is rewarded and that the key issues that matter to you most are addressed!
