Don’t just thank us, vaccinate us. Essential workers deserve better.
Essential workers have kept NYC running during the pandemic. Building service workers have kept public spaces and facilities clean and secure, and have taken care of millions of tenants.
Building service workers were deemed “essential workers” by New York State when they were needed to keep the city going. Now, many of these workers still do not have access to the vaccine. Building service workers like doorpersons, resident managers, supers, porters, handypersons, office cleaners and security professionals.
Building service workers have paid a heavy price during COVID. Many lost their lives or their jobs, and others go to work every day fearful that they would bring the virus home to their families.
Please tell Governor Cuomo to add building service workers to the eligibility list for the vaccine and give these workers a shot at getting back to normal. New Yorkers went to their windows and clapped for essential workers every night at 7pm. Now is the time to make our voices heard in Albany, so essential workers can get vaccinated and make it out of this pandemic alive.
